MODEL

So this whole working out thing must be workign for me because I was stoppe din the street today to ask if I wanted to work at Abercrombie.  They only stop you if you are good looking enough, and there was mention of possibly being the shirtless greater.  guess I am getting big.  I also went to Kmart today to pick up some new shirts.  I bought size large in hopes that they will fit for a while.  have to love hanes tshirts 2.50 each hah.

 

Saw my trainer at the gym.  the regular leg press was broken and I had to use the one where the weight is on your shoulders.  My knees were really not happy about that, but I got through it and hopefully the real leg press will be fixed soon.  I was 181 today and my trainer says that next week I should be 182.  he is a silly guy which I like.

Weekly Update

Things have been going well.  We are seriously upping my weights and I am seeing progress, especially with all that I am eating.  I see Maik pretty much every time I am at the gym and he usually gives me a tip here and there.  Today he got there in the middle of my workout and I told him I had up my trap bar dead lifts from 30 lbs on each side to 45 and he said that was good.  I was on pull downs at this point and he came over and talked me through two sets first at the 130 that I was lifting and then he upped it to 140 on me and while I only made it through 8 (10 with his slight help) it definitely made a difference.  he also told me that “you might have little biceps, who would have thought”.  my other favorite thing was I told him my clothes were not fitting anymore and it was all his fault and he told me that “I should stop wearing my little brothers clothes” hah.

I felt really big at the end of my workout today, and I seem to be pretty steady at 180 pounds now.  Maik says once I get to 190 I can start body building.  I wanted to ask what I was doing if I wasn’t body building at this point. I feel a bit porky, but I pinch my stomach and it seems to be less than when I started if not the same.  Have decide to up my workouts to lifting 4 days a week and cardio 2 days a week.  still doing the step mill for cardio and maik says it is because my hamstrings are too short and the bike will only make them shorter.  want to ask him about HIIT (High intensity interval training) but I’m willing to bet that he doesn’t want me doing that because my metabolism is high enough as it is.  he said as I get more muscle my body will gradually lean out even more.  Thats it for now, have to go eat.  Will take progress photos soon

I lost a pound

So I weighed myself yesterday (Monday) and by some cruel trick of fate I lost a pound.  I have been eating and eating and working out hard and somehow I lost a pound.  so this means I now have to gain 11 pounds.  my trainer gave me some sage advice. EAT MORE.  so now I am up to 90 grams of fat, 500 grams of carbs, and 240 grams of protein a day.  I guess this is what I have to do so I should go eat.  later

Been a while, getting used to things

So it has been about a few days since my last post. I am getting used to my workouts, and sadly I am not feeling very sore anymore. I can feel myself getting bigger, and my clothes arent really fitting so well, but my clothes were always pretty perfectly fit before so any fluctuation in size and that will happen for me.

The diet I had been given was making me feel sick, My body just can’t handle 380 grams of protein a day so now I am on a diet of 90 grams fat 450 grams carbs and 240 grams protein. still very high in protein and still very hard to handle. I just don’t like to eat that much. I feel like I am constantly eating and it is just more than I am used to. especially since I am eating nearly 2 times as many calories as I was eating before.

My weight is currently 177, and I feel a bit chunky but that was to be expected you will put on fat as you put on muscle and lot of it is probably just water weight. I am doing cardio 2-3 days a week and I think I am going to do 3 so I feel less chubby. Cardio is the stepmill for me which is a bit of torture. Last night I walked 104 flights of stairs.

Also trying to get used to my trainers way of communication. he is very short with words which as a law student / lawyer I am not used to.

But I will get used to it.  also doesn’t help that I ate twice as much oatmeal as I was supposed to today.  I was supposed to have one cup of oatmeal meaning a cooked cup but I took a cup and cooked it so I probably ate closer to 2 cups.  blargh I feel full!

So I bought glucosamine, chondriotin, and MSM in pill form. 50 bucks for 80 days. Whey protein 10 lbs for 80 bucks. Coral calcium 2 month supply for 20 bucks. Thank god I have fish oil already. Didn’t get the digestive enzymes because I’m not sure what to get. This is going to be an interesting process. To say the least tried salmon with wild rice today. It was pretty good. Tomorrow is first full day of diet though not sure what to do on my date but will figure it out.

::Begin Rant::

So I got my diet regimen and I think my trainer is trying to kill me either from sheer exhaustion or by emptying my wallet completely.

This diet regimen is insane I have to eat like 7 times a day.

Wake up to a protein shake

then have egg whites, beef,  oats, and fruit

then chicken and yams

then beef and rice

then gatorade and protein powder

then chicken or salmon and rice

then beef and greens

Plus a host of supplements, nothing bad just minerals basically.

We will see if I can do this or if the diet will change as time goes on

I just ate salmon and wild rice and it was really good, lets see if I got the right wild rice.

Working out with Maik

So worked out with my coach / trainer yesterday and he is really good.  seems like a really good guy and definitely seems to know what he is doing.  So he had me do a whole bunch of exercise to figure out what I can and can’t do.  Squats are out.  he says the issue with my knees is that my quads are well developed but my hamstrings and glutes are not so it causes torsion in my knees.  so we have to work my legs a bunch to even them out.  I also have to do a lot of back work to fix my shoulders.  I am also not allowed to do any pushing work which means no yoga for at least 3 months.  

Instead of squats I do trap bar dead lifts and then a whole bunch of other things.  We will see how it goes.  should have my diet and exercise regimen soon.
